Samsung's S27B970D PLS monitor now available

Samsung’s 9 series PC monitor with PLS panel is now available in the US. Prices start at $1199.99 for the 27-inch S27B970D, Samsung says.

Samsung unveiled the SB970 in May. With a 27-inch PLS panel, LED backlighting and a DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort connectivity, Samsung hopes to appeal to graphic artists, photographers and people working professionally.

The monitor also offers a 2560x1440 pixel resolution, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 5 ms (g2g) response time, 2 USB ports, integrated 2x7W speakers and a 10-bit panel.

Last year we had to wait for Samsung’s PLS based monitor but the 27-inch S27B970D is now available, only a few months after the unveiling. It is available exclusively from Newegg.com but will be widely available later.
