The people behind XBMC has nearly completed an XBMC app for smartphones, TV boxes and tablets running Android. This will enable Android users to watch movies and video over the home network or the internet, listen to internet radio and much more via the XBMC user interface.
A XBMC media center app is coming to Android
XBMC has grown popular and is widely used on the Apple TV box where users jailbreak their device and install the XBMC interface that can extend functionality in some areas. Android users can expect a similar experience. The Google Nexus Q could be a potential companion.
The developers of XBMC have not mentioned a date yet but when the software is ready it will be released through the Google Play store. See the demonstration video below.
