Samsung unveiled their 55" OLED-TV at CES 2012 back in January. At IFA 2012, Samsung once again brings attention to the new OLED technology. The TV is now called ES9500 and the design has changed. Functionality details have also been revealed but the price tag is still a secret.

Man, we have waited a long time for Samsung’s OLED-TV. It has been 9 months but Samsung has still not started selling the thing. At IFA, Samsung has named the TV and updated the design.
Samsung’s OLED-TV has a new stand
Samsung's OLED TV is now named ES9500 and functionality details have been revealed. It was expected but Samsung has now confirmed that the complete Smart TV platform will be integrates together with gesture and voice controls. Users can also update the platform from year to year with the so-called “Smart Evolution kit”. The first kit arrives in 2013.
When it comes to picture quality, Samsung promises stunning pictures and this time we believe the marketing talk – because we have already seen the TV. The OLED-TV also supports 3D, based on the active 3D technology with expensive 3D glasses. One of the new features is a Multi-View 3D features that enables two viewers to watch two different shows on the TV at the same time by utilizing special 3D glasses. Speakers are built into the 3D glasses.
We have pressured Samsung to give us some details about a launch date and a price tag but Samsung refuses. We also notice that Samsung no longer calls it a “Super OLED-TV” but instead just an “OLED-TV” – maybe there is a technological reason behind it? We are still waiting eagerly to hear more.
