At IFA, Loewe unveiled their new Reference ID, which is more beautiful than ever. The simplistic design is combined with the freedom to individualize the TV to your liking. Loewe has also integrated all their multimedia features.

Loewe challenges Bang & Olufsen in the luxury segment with the new Reference ID model, and Loewe is not afraid to call it a Masterpiece.

In the design phase Loewe has worked together with Italian Fazioli, a manufacturer of pianos, to demonstrate how buyers can customize the TV by changing its front, side and back. Loewe’s first customer is Prince Alexander of Schaumburg-Lippe who has ordered a very special edition of the TV – you can do the same.

The standard model has a minimalistic design with an aluminum frame and a black backside. From here you can individualize the TV and select from a range of front speakers fabrics, different aluminum frames, and different materials for the backside. Loewe also enables customers to have text engraved or to add other design elements. Lastly, an option to install LED backlighting behind to TV is mentioned.

Multimedia and picture quality
Loewe highlights their integrated picture system and says that it offers 400 Hz picture processing and different color enhancement circuits that processes both 2D and 3D pictures. Loewe has also integrated a range of multimedia features.

The first highlight is the triple TV tuner that allows users to record one TV shows while watching a different on. Recordings are stored on a 1 TB hard drive and all recorded shows are available on other Loewe TVs in the home – either via cable, WiFi or powerline.

You can control everything with the remote control or via Loewe’s iPad app called Loewe Assist Media. One of the features is the advanced EPG (electronic program guide) in which all TV channels are available to browse. Once you have found your desired TV show you simply click play and it starts on the actual TV screen.

The speakers are said to deliver 160 W and Loewe has also integrated a multi-channel sound decoder.
Loewe Reference ID will be available in the first markets later this year in 40 and 46 inch sizes. In the spring of 2013 a 55 inch model will be available. No words about pricing.
