Bang & Olufsen show that they are prepared for the future and announce new features for the BeoPlay V1 TV. All BeoPlay V1 customers can now update their TV with iPad controlling and HbbTV. A Smart TV module can also be purchased for around 100 Euro.
BeoPlay V1 gets smarter
BeoVision 11 was recently unveiled with Smart TV features but BeoPlay V1 owners can also enjoy these – for a small price. The Smart TV module will open access to for example YouTube and other internet services. More apps will come later.

B&O updates BeoPlay V1 with Smart TV functionality, HbbTV and iPad controlling
The second update is BeoRemote. BeoRemote is a free app for the Apple iPad that let users control all features of the TV from their touch-enabled tablet. BeoRemote offers an overview of TV channels and let users playback content from the iPad or a network hard drive (NAS).
The third update is HbbTV that will be available in select Europeans countries that have rolled out the internet-enabled on-demand HbbTV services. The HbbTV update is available through the TV’s update menu.
Beoplay V1 was launched in May 2012 and is the first TV in the new, cheaper B&O Play line of products. Find our BeoPlay V1 review here.
