Google is continuing to improve the Google TV platform and here comes voice control. With the new Voice Search feature you can search the content library or open apps by talking to your TV.
Voice control on Google TV
When rumors about a potential Apple iTV hit the web people speculated that Siri, the voice assistance, would serve as a voice guide. Google has now made the move and has integrated Voice Search into the Google TV platform.

Google adds Voice Search to the Google TV platform
Voice Search allows users to speak their search strings or open for example the Netflix app by saying “Netflix”. The different possibilities are demonstrated in the video below.
Google also renames the Movies & TV section PrimeTime. A new “quick guide” feature has been added to let users browse content while watching something else, and Google also recommends shows based on what you like.
The update will roll out soon to for example the LG Google TVs. However, first-generation Logitech Google TV boxes will not be getting the update. Unfortunately, the Google TV platform also seems to move into the fragmentation category.
