We are eagerly awaiting the next step in resolution called Ultra HD or 4K that will debut in large-size Ultra HD TVs this year. Sharp is now bringing 4K resolution to smaller displays with its latest 32-inch 4K LCD that is based on IGZO.
4K 32-inch IGZO display
We already know that IGZO based displays are promising and because of the IGZO technology Sharp has been able to create a 32-inch LCD with impressive 3840x2160 pixel resolution.

Sharp’s 32-inch 4K TV is seen to the right. We recently saw it exhibited at IFA 2012 in Berlin
The panel is aimed for professional use such as photo and video editing. It is a pure monitor without TV tuners and TV features – only inputs. Nevertheless, it shows that IGZO can help us take the step towards the next generation of TV resolution. And it shows that Ultra HD TVs are ready and that production has started.
Sharp’s 32-inch 4K monitor will start shipping in February 2013 for around $5500 USD. We are sure that we will hear more about Ultra HD TVs at CES 2013 in January.
