Sony unveiled a 84-inch Ultra HD TV at IFA in september. At CES 2013 in Las Vegas Sony has unveiled two more Ultra HD TVs in 65 and 55 inch sizes for living rooms. Pricing details have not been announced.
Sony’s 65 & 55” Ultra HD TVs
The industry prefers to call it Ultra HD but Sony likes 4K. It’s the same but no matter what you call it Sony now has three; a 84” inch, a 65 inch, and a 55 inch version.
Sony X900 is a range of Ultra HD TVs in 84, 65 and 55 inch sizes
The TVs promise four times Full HD from a LCD panel with edge LED backligting. Sony uses its X-Reality PRO chip and Motionflow XR960 to reproduce pictures 4K. All of Sony’s ”smart” features such as WiFi, NFC, and streaming services are also included.
Sony’s Ultra HD TVs also support 3D via the passive 3D system that relies on the inexpensive 3D glasses that you know from the movie theatre. The 3D system also supports a so-called Simi-View feature that lets two users view two different TV shows at the same time.
Sony’s Ultra HD TVs will be called X900 and will be available this spring. Pricing details are still TBA.
