The OLED technology has so much potential and one of the things you can do with OLED is to create flexible or curved screens. At CES, Samsung shows off a 55-inch curved OLED-TV.

Samsung says that the curved screen gives a more panoramic and immersive viewing experience and that the viewing angles actually improve on a curved panel.

FlatpanelsHD saw the curved OLED-TV at CES and it sure is remarkable. It is exhibited next to Samsung’s ”normal” OLED-TV and it has the same picture characteristics such as incredible contrast, deep vivid colors and wide viewing angles.

Some have reported that Samsung actually plans to release the curved 55-inch OLED-TV that is said to have an ”IMAX feel” in the second half of 2013 but we were unable to confirm this information. Nevertheless, Samsung demonstrates – again – that the OLED technology has huge potential. Now we just need real products available to buy.
