F8500 packs the most advanced technology and has a new ”Metal Craft Design” with a slim profile. The base has been redesigned and is unlike any previous models from Samsung.

Samsung promises a major improvement in brightness due to a new plasma panel that also improves black depth. Black depth also appears deeper during daytime due to a new, improved Real Black Pro anti reflective filter. FlatpanelsHD had a chance to get an exclusive look at all the new high-end TVs from Samsung in a light controlled room and the 8 series certainly looks promising. The TV also offers active 3D.

Samsung F8500 also implements the new Smart TV platform and all the new features, including tablet & smartphone interactivity, streaming services, tv apps, quad core processor and voice/gesture control. The 8 series also has the Evolution Kit that allows users to upgrade the Smart Hub next year.
Samsung has no new 7 or 6 series planned but a new 5 range will be introduced as a Full HD TV. F5000 will not feature the same improved panel as the F8500.
Lastly, Samsung plans to unveil an inexpensive 4 series.
