Dell has released its latest 30-inch UltraSharp monitor that comes with a pre-calibrated IPS panel and 2560x1600 pixel resolution. U3014, aimed at professionals such as graphic artists and photographers, also has a range of input and output connectors.

Dell replaces the U3011 with a new U3014. It still has the familiar Dell look with a matte black frame and an ergonomic base, but it also follows Dell’s recent design route with more rounded and soft corners.

The IPS panel has been pre-calibrated from the factory and offers both a sRGB color mode and an AdobeRGB color mode (99 % coverage of AdobeRGB). It uses a 16:10 aspect ratio and has a resolution of 2560x1600 pixels, offerings lots of desktop space. Dell has also been able to lower power consumption considerably compared to its old 30” version, due to the new LED backlight.

Internal color processing happens through a 12-bit processor and a 14-bit LUT (look-up table). Other specs include a 1000:1 contrast ratio, 6 ms (g2g) response time and 178/178 viewing angles.
When it comes to input connectivity, the U3014 boasts a range of options. It has 1 DVI, 1 DisplayPort, 1 mini-DisplayPort, 1 HDMI, and even one 1 DisplayPort out. In addition, Dell offers a USB 3.0 hub with four ports.
