Want to upgrade your 2012 Samsung Smart TV to the latest 2013 generation? The Smart Evolution Kit allows you to do that. It will debut in April 2013 and cost 299 Euro.
Update: Samsung USA has confirmed that the US version will ship in May for $299.
Samsung’s Evolution Kit will cost 299 Euro
Last year, Samsung introduced TVs with Smart Evolution Kit, which basically is a port on the backside of the TV that allows you to upgrade the Smart TV features from year to year, up until 2016.

The 2013 Evolution Kit includes a faster processor to speed things up. It also supports the new Smart TV platform that will be installed automatically on your 2012 Smart TV. It works on the ES7000, ES8000 & ES9000 LEDs, and the E8005 & E7000 plasmas. The high-end 2013 TVs also come with the Evolution Kit port so you can upgrade in the future.
Samsung confirms that the Evolution Kit will be available in April for a suggested price of 299 Euro. US pricing details have not been announced yet.
