Yet another rumor about Apple’s mythical TV. Apple is working on an Ultra HD TV (4K TV) that that is likely to be released by the end of 2013 or early 2014, according to DigiTimes.
Apple working on Ultra HD TV
The last time we heard about a TV from Apple was in December 2012. Now, DigiTimes reports that Apple is aiming to launch an Ultra HD TV.

Rumors about a TV from Apple started after Steve Jobs’ death in late 2011
DigiTimes cites supply chain sources that claim to know that Apple and Foxconn have been in discussions for “quite some time” about the mass production schedule. Apple is reportedly considering where to source the Ultra HD panels from. Apple is leaning towards LG.Display for the production order and hopes to start mass production by the second half of the year.
DigiTimes says that Apple could release the TV by the end of 2013 but that it is more likely to be coming out in 2014. The TV is expected to have internet connectivity as well as motion and voice controls, according to the sources.
Ultra HD panels are currently costly to manufacture, and even though the first reasonably-priced UHD TVs from Sony will be out in a few months, capacity could still be limited even by the end of 2013. There are currently five manufacturers of Ultra HD panels, including three of Apple’s current partners; LG, Sharp and Samsung.
