YouTube rolls out paid "TV channels"
YouTube wants to compete with the likes of Netflix and is making a major push for original content on its hugely popular platform. With the introduction of paid channels, YouTube is aiming to bring original content into our living rooms and onto our Smart TVs.

YouTube is launching paid channels
Pricing starts at 0.99 USD per month but can go much higher. UFC Select, for example, gives you everything from the UFC fighting world for 5.99 USD per month. Sesame Street will soon launch a channel dedicated to the show and Laugh Factory is a comedy channel.
All channels have a 14-day free trial and some offer yearly discounts. Paid YouTube channels are commercial-free. The paid TV channels should also become available through your apps on Smart TVs, tablets and smartphones soon. The app may need to be updated.
