Netflix to double original content in 2014
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter Netflix's Chief Content Officer, Ted Sarandos, said that Netflix’s decision to release exclusive original TV series has so far been a success in 2013.
The first show to debut was House of Cards with Kevin Spacey; a show that received much praise. Later, Hemlock Grove debuted and just a few days ago the fourth season of Arrested Development premiered. Not only has Netflix’s TV series so far been praised but Netflix has also decided to release every episode on day 1 and even more remarkably for non US-customers; released TV series at the same time worldwide.
House of Cards with Kevin Spacey was Netflix’s first original show and it was extremely well-received
In 2014, Netflix plans to double its output of original TV series. Netflix has already confirmed Pablo Escobar drama Narcos and Sense8 that will be directed by The Matrix creators.
