The deal is the largest for Netflix to date and they are calling it historic. It underlines that online services – such as Netflix – are now able to sign deals capturing some of the most desired content on TV. Such deals were previously reserved for premium TV channels. The new original TV series will be available exclusively on Netflix.
Netflix & DreamWorks will produce the new TV series based on some of the popular characters from the DreamWorks universe. The two shared no further details, but we already know that Turbo: F.A.S.T. will debut soon.
The DreamWorks content will be available in all of the countries in which Netflix operates, including USA, Canada, Latin America and the European countries. In addition USA and Latin America will be able to stream DreamWorks animated movies such as The Croods, Mr. Peabody and Sherman, and the snail movie Turbo. Netflix has a similar deal in place for Disney/Pixar/Marvel movies, starting 2016.
