At a press conference, Samsung announced that their curved 55” OLED-TV is now available in South Korea. The TV will cost $13,000 USD and will become available in more markets starting next month.
Samsung's first OLED-TV is curved
It's official. Samsung’s first OLED-TV is available to buy. However, it is not the 55” OLED-TV that was revealed at CES in January 2012. That TV will never reach the market, says Samsung.

Instead, Samsung has decided to launch its curved 55” OLED-TV. The TV was unveiled for the first time at CES 2013 in January 2013. The gently curved OLED-TV is ultra thin and will set you back 13,000 US dollars. The price matches LG’s price on a similar 55” curved OLED-TV that was released in May.
The design of Samsung’s curved OLED-TV resembles that of Samsung’s first Ultra HD TVs, with an outer frame. The frame is also curved.

How the TV appeared when Samsung unveiled it the first time as a concept during CES 2013
Samsung did not reveal many technical details but we already know that the TV has virtually perfect contrast, perfect viewing angles, and extremely fast response time. Samsung’s first OLED-TV also offers the full Smart TV platform with the Smart Evolution Kit. Lastly, Samsung mentions Multi View that enables two viewers to watch two different TV channels on the same TV in full screen by utilizing 3D glasses with built-in headphones.
Samsung's curved 55" OLED-TV is available now in South Korea. Samsung will launch it in more markets in July.
