Until now Philips’ Smart TV owners have had no access to Netflix but two July updates have added a Netflix app along with other previously promised media features.
Netflix app finally available on Philips' Smart TVs
The latest update has added a Netflix app that can be accessed through Philips’ Smart TV platform. The Netflix app looks similar to apps in other Smart TVs with categories and a basic search function, and is based on the technical platform also used for the PS3 Netflix app.

Finally, Netflix on Philips’ 2013 Smart TVs
The updates also introduce new features such as Android support for TV channel streaming. With the free Philips MyRemote app users can pull TV channels from the TV onto a smartphone or tablet. The same functionality has been available for iPhone/iPad owners for some time.
The update also enables the Multiroom feature that Philips promoted at the launch events. Multiroom lets users stream TV channels from the main TV in the living room to secondary TVs in bedrooms, the kitchen etc. It requires a 2013 Philips Smart TV as the server and secondary TVs with the latest version of DLNA.
Lastly, Philips has added DTS audio support and an updated YouTube app that is based on HTML5 and includes YouTubeLeanBack.
The latest software update can be downloaded through the update menu on your Philips 2013 Smart TV (6000 series and up). The Netflix app is not available on Philips’ 2011 and 2012 Smart TVs.
