Microsoft reports that the Xbox One will delayed in 8 of the original launch markets. The Xbox One that should have been out in November to compete head-on-head with the PlayStation 4 will not be available until 2014. Microsoft offers a free game for the inconvenience.
Xbox One delayed to 2014 in 8 countries
When the Xbox One was announced, Microsoft promised to bring it to 21 countries in November 2013. Microsoft has now cut that number to 13 and the following countries will have to wait until 2014; Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Sweden, and Switzerland.
Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Spain, United Kingdom, United States and New Zealand will still see the Xbox One released in November.

Microsoft has chosen to delay the console because they need more time “to localize the Xbox One dash, incorporate additional voice and languages, and build partnerships to bring apps and meaningful local content to each country”. All those things appear to be fairly irrelevant for a game console but Microsoft says that it will be an experience “worth waiting for".
Exactly when in 2014 the Xbox One will launch is left unsaid. Microsoft just says that it will happen “as soon as possible” in 2014. All pre-orders will receive a free game as a small apology but no words on which game. Microsoft says that you should contact your local retailer for more information.
