Some of the monitors were unveiled in July, but at IFA 2013 LG will officially release its new line-up of four 21:9-format IPS monitors, including an all-in-one PC and a monitor with built-in TV tuner.
Four new 21:9 monitors from LG
LG is proud to call itself the leader in the “UltraWide” segment – and what a title. Nevertheless, LG has three new 21:9 monitors prepared for release, along with a new 21:9-format all-in-one PC. All of the monitors are based on 29-inch IPS panels.
LG 29EB73
LG’s three new standalone monitors are called 29EA73, 29EB73 and 29MA73. They carry a lot of similarities with 2560x1080 pixel resolution, 5 ms response time (g2g), and 178/178 degree viewing angles. The main difference between the 29EA73 and 29EB73 is the height adjustable stand on the latter. Connectivity includes DVI, 2 HDMI (one with MHL), DisplayPort, and 2 USB 3.0 ports. Audio in and out ports are also available.
LG 29MA73
The 29MA73 variant adds a TV tuner to the mix. The TV tuner support what LG calls Extra View, which allows a “portion of the screen to be utilized as a TV schedule or another application”. The 29MA73 also has the height adjustable stand.
LG V960
Lastly, LG is releasing an all-in-one PC based on the 29-inch 21:9 IPS panel The PC is called V960 and runs on Windows 8. It ships with a keyboard and a mouse.
No pricing details have been announced, but LG’s monitors are expected to appear in stores within weeks.
