Windows 8 has not been the big success that Microsoft had hoped for, but display makers are still supporting the project with touch monitors that can utilize the touch features. Dell presents its new 23 and 27 inch models.

Dell's new 23" P2314T and 27" P2714T are touch monitors, designed for Windows 8, but they obviously also function with other touch-enabled systems. The touch system is based on capacitive technology, the same one that is used in almost any smartphone today, which makes it accurate and reliable.

The two screens are also ordinary PC monitors. They come with AH-IPS panels with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels in both screen sizes. The LCD panel is edge LED backlit, and both of the monitors can reproduce the full sRGB color gamut.

The stand can be tilted backwards for better ergonomics, when using the touch features. The monitors can also be wall-mounted, which is useful if you are planning on setting up a media center monitor in your house with a touch interface. Both of the monitors can be connected to a PC with one of the two HDMI ports or via DisplayPort. They also include MHL and 2 USB 3.0 ports.
