Xbox One will launch with more TV apps than PS4

Microsoft has announced the list of launch-day TV apps for the Xbox One. The Xbox One will come with a healthy list of global and local TV apps, including Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon, TED, and more. YouTube is missing.

Microsoft positioned the Xbox One as part game console, part TV box from the beginning so it is perhaps not surprising that it comes with more TV apps than the PlayStation 4 at launch.


Xbox One launches on November 22nd in 13 countries

Microsoft has confirmed the following TV apps for the US market:

Crackle
The CW
ESPN
FOX NOW
FXNOW
HBO GO (coming soon)
Hulu Plus
Machinima
MUZU TV
Netflix
Redbox Instant by Verizon
Target Ticket
TED
The NFL on Xbox One
Twitch
Univision Deportes
Verizon FiOS TV
VUDU

Local apps for all the other launch countries have also been confirmed here. Some of the most notable omissions are YouTube and BBC’s iPlayer for UK, but both of them are also missing on the PS4 launch list.

The Xbox One will launch on November 22nd in 13 countries, but has been delayed to early 2014 in 8 European countries.
