Pioneer TVs will make a comeback in Europe under an exclusive partnership deal with retailer giant Dixons. The new Pioneer TVs will not be based on plasma technology, but instead Full HD LCD LED panels in 40, 46 and 55 inch sizes. They will be released in the Nordics in December and in UK later.
Pioneer TVs make a comeback in Europe
A few years ago, Pioneer made incredible TVs that were clearly ahead of time. Pioneer’s Kuro TVs were based on plasma technology, but the new European models will be based on LCD technology. This is not the first time that the Pioneer logo has used on a TV after Pioneer closeddown TV production in 2010. In 2011, Sharp and Pioneer entered an agreement to sell Elite TV in the USA.

The new Pioneer TVs will be sold in Europe, with the initial roll-out happening in the Nordic countries in December, and later in the UK. UK retailer giant Dixon, who owns PC World and Currys, has the exclusive rights. Three LED models will be available in 40, 46, and 55 inch sizes. Features include 3D, Smart TV, 3 HDMI inputs, and 3 USB ports.
