Sling Media recently added Airplay to the iOS app, and today Sling has unveiled the new SlingPlayer 3.0 for iOS and a Roku channel. A Windows 8.1 app will be introduced in December 2013.
Sling updates iOS app & adds Roku channel
The Slingboxes have become a popular tool for streaming TV channels to TVs without antenna cables plugged in, or to mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones.
The new SlingPlayer 3.0 app for iOS adds new features, such as an exhanced sports experience, a new content discovery tool, second screen controls, and split-screen navigation. The new app requires iOS 7. Sling Media also recently added Airplay support.

The Slingbox 350 can stream your TV channels to other devices
Sling is also adding a channel on Roku’s popular streaming boxes. The Roku channel lets you stream your TV channels and recordings to a TV through a Roku box at home or in a remote location. It requires an iOS or Android device to initiate the video in the Roku app. The new SlingPlayer app for Roku is supported on Roku 3, 2XS, 2XD, 2, 1, and LT, as well as the Roku streaming stick.
Lastly, Sling Media says that they are working on an app for Windows 8.1 The new app will be available in December.
