PlayStation 4 has officially launched in Europe to long lines. Customers in several countries will be receiving their pre-orders today, but some stores also offer PS4 in-store. Sony says that some PSN features will be deactivated during the European roll-out.
PlayStation 4 has landed in Europe
The PlayStation 4 is launching in Europe today, two weeks after the US launch. Sony is once again expecting record sales in Europe, and says that all pre-orders are reserved. Sony sold 1 million PS4 consoles on launch day in USA and Canada, making it the most successful game console launch in history, together with the Xbox One that also sold 1 million on launch day.
Some stores report that they will have limited PS4 stock for walk-in customers, but you need to be quick. Some stores opened the doors at midnight. The midnight events saw long queues of people lining up to try and buy the new PlayStation.

The launch of PlayStation 4 also marks the beginning of the next-generation game console era. PlayStation 4 is 10 times more powerful than the PlayStation 3 that was launched 7 years ago.
Sony has sent out a statement explaining that some PSN features will be deactivated during the European roll-out to ensure a smooth launch. Sony will be temporarily turning off “What’s New” as well as the sub menus for games. Both features will return in a few days, says Sony.
