BenQ has announced two new gaming monitors. The 24-inch XL2411Z & XL2420Z monitors incorporate fast 144 Hz TN panels with 1 ms response time and a backlight blinking feature that seeks to reduce motion blur.

Following the announcement of the 27-inch XL2720Z, BenQ has also announced two 24-inch gaming monitors called XL2411Z and XL2420Z. The design is largely unchanged compared to previous BenQ monitors.
BenQ XL2411Z
The monitors utilize what is often referred to as strobe backlight, although BenQ refrains from using that term on their own website, instead calling it “Motion Blur Reduction”. It is basically a backlight blinking system that reduces motion blur while gaming.
BenQ XL2420Z
Both monitors come with 1920x1080 pixel resolution, 144 Hz refresh rate, 1 ms (g2g) response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio and 350 cd/m2 brightness. BenQ also highlights flicker-free technology (backlight blinking can be deactivated for day-to-day use) and LED backlighting. Both monitors use TN panels, which is common in gaming monitors. The main differences between the two are design details, and a USB 2.0 hub and the S-Switch in the XL2420Z. The XL2411Z has a HDMI port, on top of XL2420Z’s DVI and D-SUB (VGA).
The 27” XL2720Z is expected to launch in January 2014, and the smaller 24” XL2411Z & XL2420Z monitors are expected to follow shortly after. BenQ has not announced prices.
