LG has announced a slew of new monitors today, including a 31-inch IPS monitor with 4096x2160 pixel resolution and Thunderbolt 2, as well as two 29 and 34-inch 21:9-format monitors. All of them will be showcased at CES 2014.

LG’s new monitors are certainly interesting. The first is presented as a “real 4K” 31-inch monitor. It uses the 4096x2160 pixel resolution that movie theatres typically call 4K – also referred to as DCI 4K.
The 31-inch 31MU95 Color Prime monitor is targeted at movie and photography professionals. It boasts a Thunderbolt 2 port and 99 % AdobeRGB coverage, and “professional-level” color accuracy from the IPS panel.
