LG has announced that they are bringing a comprehensive line-up of OLED TVs to CES 2014 in Las Vegas. Amongst the new models are 65 and 55-inch 4K TVs, but LG will also showcase its 77-inch curved OLED TVs.

LG will bring new 55, 65 and 77-inch curved OLED TVs with 4K resolution to CES. The 77-inch was showcased at IFA 2013 back in September, but the two smaller siblings with 4K resolution are new. The 77-inch 4K TV now has a model name, 77EC9800, which could indicate that LG is planning to release it.
LG says that all three use the WRGB OLED pixels and 4K resolution, and that the color temperature of the panel can be controlled automatically depending on the viewing environment, by utilizing LG’s Color Refiner technology. The TVs can also reproduce perfect black and passive 3D, which should benefit from the 4K resolution.
The TVs support both H.264 mpeg4 and H.265 HEVC; a new, more effective compression standard. LG says that the TVs can decode HEVC-encoded signals at up to 60 fps, and that the TVs also incorporate the new Smart TV platform - possibly the one built on webOS. No words on HDMI 2.0 yet.
Lastly, LG will bring its flat 55-inch Gallery OLED TV and a “environmentally-friendly” curved 55-inch OLED TV to CES 2014. LG once again underlines its commitment to OLED in the press release, and FlatpanelsHD will taking a closer look at all of the new OLED TVs during CES 2014, so stay tuned.
