LG has unveiled a new range of Ultra HD TVs called UB9800 that will be available in up to 98 inch sizes. All four models in the UB9800 range come with built-in 4K HEVC decoding.

LG’s new UB9800 Ultra HD TVs stand directly on the floor, supported by a two-legged stand in each side. The TVs will be available in 65, 79, 84, and 98 inch sizes; all with 4K resolution.
LG highlights several new features, including built in HEVC decoding in up to 60 fps and 4K resolution. HEVC is the next generation of video compression after mpeg4 / H.264. LG says that the new TVs also come with an improved Tru-Ultra HD Engine Pro that takes care of upscaling and video processing, and unlike LG’s current Ultra HD TVs, the new UB9800 models come with HDMI 2.0 inputs.

All of the TVs feature IPS panels with passive 3D technology, meaning that you can enjoy 3D in full resolution, even though you are using cheap polarized, flicker-free 3D glasses.
LG’s new UB9800 TVs will be exhibited for the first time at CES 2014. Stay tuned for our impressions.
