Microsoft was in a rush to push out the Xbox One and in the process they forgot that most countries actually broadcast TV in 50 Hz – not 60 Hz. The upcoming March update will fix the 50 Hz judder issue for current owners.

Fix is coming very soon
Many Xbox One owners have complained about stuttering video on Xbox One when viewing PAL DVDs or TV channels via the HDMI pass-through function. The problem is that the Xbox One outputs everything in 60 Hz - which is fine for NTSC in the US – instead of 50 Hz, which is required in European countries and even many Asian countries.
The March update will include a fix for the “judder bug” that should never have been there if Microsoft had not rushed the game console out, forcing them to eventually delay it in several regions because of the too aggressive launch schedule. An “Enable 50 Hz” option will be visible in the Settings menu, according to beta testers of the March update. It appears that there will be no auto-detect function.
Rumors suggest that Microsoft will start selling the Xbox One in more countries by April.
