With Miracast you can wirelessly mirror your Android smartphone or tablet onto the larger PC monitor. Philips is launching a new 23-inch PC monitor with built-in Miracast.
Miracast in a PC monitor
A wireless Miracast signal is compressed (in Full HD) and when two devices connect via Miracast the home WiFi connection is cut, but a wireless video signal can still have many advantages. Say you want to show your vacation photos or videos on a larger screen to family and friends.

It is still possible to connect Philips’ monitor to a PC by using traditional HDMI and D-SUB (VGA) cables, and Miracast is just a supplement. Philips’ new monitor uses a 23-inch IPS panel with full HD resolution. IPS panels are generally recognized for good color reproduction and wide viewing angles, but weak contrast.
Philips’ new PC monitor with Miracast is called 239C4QHWAB and will be available throughout Europe for around 300 Euro.
