Several PC monitor makers have announced 4K monitors already, and AOC also has a 28-inch 4K monitor coming out in a few months. The 28-inch U2868Pqu is expected to sell for $800 / Ł540 when it is released in June.
AOC’s first 4K PC monitor
We have seen a flurry of inexpensive 4K monitors from brands such as Samsung, Asus, Dell, and Seiki recently. AOC will be joining the party soon with the release of the 28-inch U2868Pqu.
The monitor uses a TN panel with 3860x2160 pixel resolution. It accepts 60 Hz signals using DisplayPort, says AOC. It will be marketed as a gaming monitor and AOC boasts a 1ms (g2g) response time.
It can also be connected to a PC via VGA, DVI and HDMI 1.4, but you cannot feed it with a 60 Hz 4K signal through these inputs. Additional ports include a headphone jack and a 4-port USB hub. It also features integrated speakers.
The base offers height, tilt, swivel and pivot adjustments and the matte black design should fit nicely on a typical office desk.
The AOC U2868Pqu is currently listed for approximately Ł540 UK pounds and $800 dollars at several retailers. It can be pre-ordered here
and is expected to ship in June.
