We included the HU6900 in our Samsung 2014 TV overview. Samsung says that it will only be available in select regions, but it is already listed at retailers in several European countries for 1350 Euro, including Germany and the UK.
Samsung’s HU6900 Ultra HD TVs
We have asked Samsung about the HU6900 several times, but they would much rather like to talk about their two more expensive Ultra HD TVs. The HU6900 is cheap Ultra HD TV in 40, 50, and 55” sizes, destined for Europe.

The Ultra HD TV comes with HDMI 2.0 inputs, just like the more expensive models, and there is also mention of HEVC, which should enable Netflix 4K streaming and future 4K sources. It even supports Samsung’s Evolution Kit that allows you to update the Smart TV platform every year and twin tuner for recording. However, it has no 3D.
The HU6900 has started popping up at several retailers throughout Europe for 1349 Euro and Ł1199 pounds in UK for the 40” version. We have spotted it in Germany, UK, France, Italy Spain, Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, and the Nordic countries. It appears that Samsung is rolling the HU6900 out throughout Europe.
