Samsung has demonstrated a prototype of their new Tizen-based Smart TV platform to the press. The new Tizen Smart TV integrates live TV with apps, and is controlled with a motion remote or a smartphone.

A few days ago, Samsung revealed that they are developing a new, ambitious Smart TV platform based on Tizen that will also power phones, appliances, and cars. At their Tizen developer conference they have shown of the Tizen Smart TV for the first time, according to Pocket-Lint.

The Tizen Smart TV is still a prototype and could change before it hits the market, but right now is integrates live TV channels with TV apps, music, and photos, and external TV boxes. It uses large preview photos and can be navigated with either a motion-enabled remote or with a smartphone.

Samsung has not announced a launch date for the new Tizen Smart TVs, but they are expected to debut at CES 2015 this January.

- "Read my lips, they will be on the market very soon." Said Jong-Deok Choi, executive vice president of Samsung.
