PlayStation Now will also work on Sony Full HD TVs

Sony has big plans for its PlayStation Now game streaming service. The “Netflix of games” will also work on affordable Full HD Sony TVs from the 2014 line-up, according to the company.

PS Now on 2014 Sony TVs

PlayStation Now will let you play PlayStation games without the PlayStation box. Instead, Sony will set up huge servers that will stream the game directly to your smartphone, tablet or TV. You just need internet and a wireless DualShock 3 controller.

Sony previously said that PS Now would only work on its premium-priced 4K TVs, but Sony now confirms that even affordable Full HD TVs from the 2014 line-up will support the service.

PlayStation Now will work on the X95, X9 and X8 4K ranges. In addition, Sony will let owners of the new W95, W85, W8, W7 and W6 Full HD TVs stream PlayStation games.

PS Now, which is still in beta, will start streaming to owners of Sony TVs in the US this week. Games cost between $3 to $20 dollars to rent, but Sony is also planning to introduce a subscription service later.

Sony has not announced a launch date for PS Now, but says that the service will launch in the US, Europe and Japan.
