Samsung has found out that it is no easy task to create a digital movie store on Smart TVs and mobile devices, so they will be shutting down the Samsung Video and Media Hub.
Samsung Video Hub is dead
Samsung’s Video Hub never became the strong alternative to Apple iTunes and Google Play Movies that Samsung had hoped. It never really took off, despite being front-and-center on Samsung’s Smart TVs.
So they are shutting it down. In fact, it happened on July 1. Users will no longer be able to watch purchased or rented movies via the Video Hub. Instead, Samsung will let users transfer purchases to the M-Go service (via this link), which is also available on Samsung’s Smart TVs.

Samsung also recently shut down its Hub Books and Samsung Music services. A few years back, Samsung announced a major initiative to create media hubs for all its devices, but most of the services are now gone.
Besides taking over Samsung’s Video service, M-Go will introduce 4K streaming later this year.
