The first time we saw Samsung’s high-end Ultra HD TV was at CES back in January. Samsung is now releasing the impressive curved, and extra-wide, TV for $120,000 dollars.
Samsung’s most expensive to date
Yes, the TV is surely impressive. It is not just an Ultra HD TV, but an ultra-wide version in the same 21:9 format as movie theatres use (almost). This means that the resolution is actually 5120x2160 pixels. It is also 105 inches in diagonal, making it one of Samsung’s largest TVs to date.

But it is also the most expensive, and with a price tag this hefty it is clearly out of reach for most buyers. It is mostly a statement from Samsung, which has come a long way in TVs in recent years. Just 10 years ago it would have been impossible to imagine a high-end luxury TV from the South Korean TV maker.
- “We continue to set the bar as the UHD market leader by delivering the best picture quality, design and most immersive viewing experiences in home entertainment,” said Joe Stinziano, Executive Vice President, Samsung Electronics America
Samsung has dubbed it the UN105S9W and is now taking pre-orders for $120,000. It lets owners upgrade the Smart TV features each year with the Evolution Kit.
