LG will release a new Ultra HD TV range in August. The UB830V will come in several screen sizes and includes both HDMI 2.0 and HEVC decoding.
Most affordable UHD TV from LG yet
LG is currently selling three Ultra HD models across Europe and the US, but the UB830V will soon be added to the portfolio as an affordable model. It will also be LG’s cheapest Ultra HD TV to date.
Depending on your region, it will be available in several different sizes, including 49” (49UB830V), 50” (50UB830V), 55” (55UB830B) and 58” (55UB830V) variants. No retail prices have been announced, but the 55” is currently listed for 1499 Euro at some retailers, with a delivery date in mid-August.
Unlike other cheap Ultra HD TVs from small brands, LG’s models offers a HDMI 2.0 port that allows you to connect external 4K players, as well as HEVC decoding (only 4K/30p according to specs) that allows it to decode 4K content from streaming services. However, it has not been confirmed to work with Netflix’s 4K streaming.
It is also unclear if the UB830V TVs offer LG’s new webOS platform. Some of LG’s websites list webOS as included, but other regions list it as coming with NetCast; LG’s old Smart TV platform. It has not been possible to get confirmation from LG at this point.
