If you own one of Philips’ new Android-based Smart TVs you can soon enjoy some of the latest blockbuster games. OnLive is a streaming gaming service similar to Sony’s PlayStation Now.
OnLive on Philips Smart TVs
OnLive believes that, in the future, you will have access to all your games on every device, as games will be streamed over the internet just like Netflix streams movies. OnLive is building that future and expanding its business rapidly.

The service streams the latest “console-class” games from huge servers directly to your device. Philips is the the first to add OnLive to its Smart TVs in Europe, starting with Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, the Netherlands and Ireland in Q4 2014. More countries will be added in 2015.
The OnLive service will work on all of Philips’ current Android-based Smart TVs, and you can challenge friends even though they are playing on a PC, Mac or Android tablet. In addition, you need to connect a wireless game controller to the TV.
Philips will most likely be demonstrating OnLive gaming on its TVs during IFA, and if it happens we will be there to take a closer look.
