Panasonic confirms 4K Netflix for its 4K TVs

05 Sep 2014 | Rasmus Larsen |

Panasonic’s Ultra HD TVs will soon be able to stream Netfilx in 4K resolution. The list of TVs includes AX800, AX900 and future TVs.

Netflix 4K on Panasonic TVs

Only Sony, Samsung and LG allowed owners of its latest Ultra HD TVs to stream 4K from Netflix when it launched earlier this year. Panasonic is now joining the pack.

Panasonic AX900

Panasonic’s new AX900 flagship will support Netflix 4K, but also the older AX800 which was launched in May. Panasonic previously said that AX800 lacked a key element of HEVC, which made it incapable of streaming Netflix in 4K, but it seems that Panasonic has found a solution. AX800 will receive a firmware update soon, says Panasonic.

Panasonic says that its AX800 and AX900 TVs also offer HDMI 2.0 inputs for connecting external 4K players.
