Sharp introduces its first European Ultra HD TV at IFA last month and the TV is now available to buy in stores throughout Europe. It is available in 60 and 70 inch sizes.

Sharp's new UD20 Ultra HD TV is equipped with HDMI 2.0 for connecting 4K players, and has been awarded a 4K THX certification for its picture quality, says Sharp.

The speaker system has been developed by Yamaha and the sleek aluminum design makes the TVs elegant despite the large format. The TVs also have built-in apps such as YouTube, Netflix and more, but Netflix 4K has not been confirmed.

The Ultra HD TV is Sharp's first in Europe, where it previously launched "pseudo-4K" TVs with more sub pixels than Full HD TVs, but not real enough to be called real 4K. In the US, Sharp has already launched 4K TVs.

Sharp UD20 is shipping now in most European countries. It is priced at 3400 and 4600 Euro in 60” (LC-60UD20EN) and 70” (LC-70UD20EN), respectively.
