Amazon announced the Fire TV streaming box earlier this year, and the retail giant is now launching the Fire TV Stick, which has many of the same features. It is available for just $39.

Amazon is adding a HDMI stick to its line-up. You can connect the new Fire TV Stick to any TV via HDMI to get access to streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, Hulu Plus, Crackle, Spotify, Pandora, and many more.
Amazon says that the Fire TV Stick has 2x the memory of Chromecast and is powered by a dual-core processor. It also comes bundled with a remote and you can use a remote app on Android and iOS. Voice search, which was introduced in the Fire TV box earlier this year, and games are also available in the Fire TV Stick. However, voice search only works with the smartphone app.
The Fire TV Stick looks a lot like the Chromecast or Roku stick at first glance, but it has more in common with the latter than the former. With Chromecast you are “casting” content form your mobile device onto the big screen. Fire TV has a complete user interface on the TV screen, just like the Roku. From here you have access to the apps. 1080p and 7.1 Dolby Digital Plus are supported.
The Fire TV Stick is available for pre-order now for $39
and will be delivered on November 19. Prime members can pick it up for just $19 today and tomorrow.
