Dell is going all-in on 4K monitors, and will soon add two new 24 and 27 inch 4K models to the cheaper P series of monitors. The P2415Q and P2715Q are capable of running 4K at 60 Hz and use IPS panels.
Dell P2415Q and P2715Q
After making its debut in large-size monitors, 4K is now coming to smaller desktop monitors. Dell’s P2415Q will be one of the smallest 4K monitors to date, and will require you to run Windows 8.1 or OS X Yosemite to take advantage of the high resolution.
Dell’s P series monitors are typically more affordable than the popular U series, and the fact that 4K is coming to the P series makes it clear that 4K could soon become mainstream. The 24-inch P2415Q and 27-inch P2715Q both offer IPS panels with 3840x2160 pixels, capable of running 60 Hz. Other specifications include 8 ms (g2g) response time and 1000:1 contrast ratio.
Designed as a classic Dell monitor with black frame, the stand also offers height, tilt, swivel, and pivot adjustments. Connectivity options include DisplayPort 1.2, miniDP 1.2, HDMI 1.4 and DP out. However, the HDMI port is not capable of running 4K at 60 Hz. Additionally, Dell says that both of the monitor come factory-calibrated for accurate colors.
