M-Go has launched a new 4K movie service that is exclusive for Samsung’s Smart TV. M-Go offers 4K movies that you can either buy or rent, but several titles are just upscaled HD versions.

M-Go teased its plans for 4K at CES 2014 back in January, and the service was actually scheduled to arrive in spring 2014. Well, here it is, and at the moment it is exclusive to Samsung’s latest Ultra HD TVs.
M-Go’s 4K movies will “be priced on average at $1-2 more than HD titles to rent and $3-5 to buy”. The catalogue will hold titles from DreamWorks, Technicolor and other studies. Right now around 70 titles are available, but the goal is to hit 100 by the end of 2014.
Only a few titles have been confirmed, including Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, The Giver, Power, Ghost in the Shell and Limitless. The photo below is from CES and not representative of the catalogue.

There is no information on bitrate, but M-Go admits that many of the launch titles are just upscaled HD movies.
Netflix has offered 4K since earlier this year and Amazon is expected to add 4K movies to Amazon Instant Video later this year.
