If you are not yet convinced about virtual reality’s future consider for a moment that Facebook acquired Oculus for 2 billion dollars. Apple is also showing interest in the technology reveals a flood of patent applications as well as a job listing that could indicate something a little more concrete.
Everyone is into virtual reality
Oculus revived virtual reality and since then Sony has announced VR glasses for PlayStation 4 and Samsung has announced Gear VR that lets you slide a Galaxy phone into the VR headset. Microsoft is reportedly also working on VR glasses for Xbox One.

Apple is showing interest in VR, too. Actually, the company has been working on the technology since at least 2006, according to several patent applications. And over the weekend a new job listing was posted that hints at Apple ambitions and plans to make something else than just prototypes.
They are looking for a developer with experience in 3D graphics, virtual reality and augmented reality to build "high performance apps that integrate with Virtual Reality systems for prototyping and user testing". The concept photo above shows one of Apple’s latest patent applications.
Only time will tell what Apple is working on, but by now it is clear that most major electronics manufactures believe in a virtual reality future in some form.
