LG announced a range of curved PC monitors a few months ago, and here is another addition to the line-up. It is a slightly smaller 29-inch monitor in 21:9 format, called 29UC97.
Another curved LG monitor
A large curved monitor can be alternative to multi-monitor setups on the desktop, and in recent months we have seen more manufacturers jump into the category. LG’s new 29-inch 29UC97 is an addition to the UC97 range, which already includes a 34-inch model.

The monitor uses an IPS panel with a resolution of 2560x1080 pixels. It is an allround monitor and LG adds that game developers have begun supporting the 21:9 format, which is considerably wider than traditional 16:9. Besides that the specifications list is without surprises. 29UC97 can reproduce sRGB colors, has a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and a 5 ms (g2g) response time. It uses flicker-free LED backlighting for added eye comfort.

LG has designed the monitor to work with both Macs and PCs. On the back side you will find two Thunderbolt 2 inputs, in addition to DisplayPort 1.2, two HDMI 1.4 ports and two USB 3.0 ports. It also offers a headphone jack and has built-in 7W speakers. The design of the monitor is simple with an elegant stand and a completely white back. The stand only offers tilt adjustment but it is possible to wall-mount the monitor.
LG 29UC97 will be available in stores soon. The bigger 34-inch is already shipping
