Xbox One gets Miracast & more in latest update

26 Apr 2015 | Rasmus Larsen |

Microsoft’s latest update for Xbox One will make the gaming console capable of screen mirroring if you own a phone, tablet or PC with Miracast support. There are also other updates.

Screen mirroring on Xbox One

You will soon be able to mirror the screen from your phone, tablet or PC onto the TV via Xbox One. Mirroring is based on Miracast, which is integrated in Windows Phones, PCs, and select Android devices.

The SmartGlass app for mobile devices will also receive an update to let users power on the Xbox One from a phone - and turn it off.

Another new feature is “Live TV streaming” for owners of the Digital TV Tuner that recently became available. You can stream TV channels from your Xbox One to PCs running Windows 8 or 10, as well as Windows Phone, iOS, and Android devices. It works within the home only.

There are also other small tweaks and updates in the new version called 4.4.9014.0. Check out the video below.
