Apple has added seven new channels on Apple TV, including CBS Sports, USA Now, and Arte. A new Apple TV box with an app store is widely rumored to be announced at next month’s WWDC.

New apps in several regions

Users in the US have gained access to CBS Sports and USA Now as of yesterday. CBS is offerings free access to sports clips worldwide but USA Now requires a cable subscription.

Crave TV and Shomi are available for users in Canada. Crave TV requires a Bell TV subscription and Shomi requires a Rogers or Shaw subscription.

CBS Sports

Users in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, and Switzerland now have access to Arte. Fox Sports has been made available in Australia, and Hopster has been made available in the UK.

A new Apple TV with an app store, allowing developers to create full-fledged apps, is expected to be announced at the WWDC keynote on June 8. A new remote control with a touch pad is also said to be part of the upgrade.
