Sharp's new affordable UB30 UHD TVs now shipping
The most affordable 2015 Ultra TV from Sharp is now shipping in the US. UB30 is available in sizes ranging from 43 to 55 inches, and a 65 inch model will be added next month. UB30 supports 4K streaming, too.Sharp UB30 now shipping
Sharp’s 2015 TV line-up was announced at CES 2015, and UB30is the most affordable of the bunch. It will not offer the new Android TV platform, but instead Sharp’s own SmartCentral that now supports HEVC & VP9 decoding for streaming of 4K content from Netflix and YouTube. There is no support for Amazon Instant Video yet.
The Ultra HD TVs also support HDMI 2.0, meaning that you can connect future 4K players. It has a slim design with a thin bezel and is based on edge LED. Sharp says that the 65-inch model that is coming next month will offer local dimming. None of the TVs support 3D. You will have to buy one of the step-up models to get 3D.
