”Fastest growing selection”
Over 600 new channels, apps, and games have been added to the Fire TV platform in the last 3 months, which is "more than Roku and Apple TV in the same timeframe", according to Amazon.
New apps include Popcornflix, Funny or Die, Candy Crush Saga, and Fox News. The new game streaming service GameFly that is offering PC titles, including the Batman series, Darksiders II, and Dirt 3, has also been added. Game packs start at $6.99 a month.

- "The team is working hard and moving incredibly fast to bring even more movies, TV shows, live TV, sports, music, channels, apps and games to the Amazon Fire TV platform every week--and it shows. Amazon Fire TV selection has grown 127% in just the last 6 months, and is continuing to accelerate," said Steve Rabuchin, Vice President Amazon Appstore.
Amazon is competing with other media streamers such as Apple TV, Roku, and boxes based on Android TV. Fire TV is available for $99
. Amazon also launched a cheaper Fire TV Stick late last year.
